Lock In Your Brand, Website, and Starter Kit

Even if they aren’t perfect yet, get your basics online so people can find and recognize you. You can refine later.

Brand

  • Campaign name — Clear and memorable (e.g., “Jane for Council” or “Friends of Jane”).
  • Logo — Simple, readable, and versatile. Works in black and white, color, and small sizes like a yard sign.

Website

At minimum, have a one-page site with:

  • Your name and the office you’re running for
  • A short bio
  • A professional headshot
  • A clear “Donate” button that works from any device

Starter Kit Essentials

  • Short bio — One paragraph that explains who you are and why you’re running.
  • Headshot — Bright, professional, and friendly. Use it everywhere — website, flyers, press materials.
  • Donation link — Don’t make supporters hunt for it.
  • “More to come” placeholders — Let visitors know updates are in progress.

Pro tip: Your brand and starter kit don’t need to be perfect before you start campaigning. They just need to exist and look credible so voters, donors, and the press have something to reference.
